As a child in King's Row, Russell Graves often wondered why his family's appartment was so much nicer than any of their neighbor's. He received many answers, mostly designed to avoid words like "slumlord." In fact, his father was one of the most notorious real estate sleazeballs in Paragon City's history, rumored to have extensive ties to the Skulls. Russell was kept blissfully unaware of all of this -- no small feat -- until his freshman year of college, where his roommate turned out to be someone who'd lived in one of his father's slums. He went through a brief period of denial, during which he met a strange old antiques dealer who essentially forced him to buy, quite cheaply, a sword she claimed was Arondight, the legendary sword of Sir Lancelot. Oddly, the sword did seem to give him the courage to blow the whistle on his father and take a stab at cleaning up King's Row, but he believed it to be just a boring-looking repro. Then the sword started talking to him...
