Postmortem
Street Soldier
Style: Controller
(Ice / Kinetics)
Origin: Science
Full Name: Clayton Farnsworth
Clayton Farnsworth was a promising young medical researcher, working
at Cygnus Medical Center in Galaxy City. His life was unexciting and unexceptional,
except maybe for the time he almost got mugged. That changed abruptly
when fellow researcher Derrick Snidely, his rival for the attention of
the lovely nurse Prunella Nightengale, arranged for him to "accidentally"
fall into the experimental Embalmatron 6000. Before activating the device,
Snidely explained, in true villain fashion, that the so-called Embalmatron
was in fact an experiment in human immortality. Since he needed hard test
data and Clayton, as the first test subject, was almost sure to die a
horrible death, he figured he could kill two birds with one stone.
Clayton didn't die, exactly, but that wasn't immediately obvious. Snidely
chalked it up as a failed experiment and a successful murder and promptly
scarpered, expending a little cash in getting a forged death certificate
accepted by the county coroner's office. Clayton was apparently medically
dead for quite some time, waking up at his own postmortem just in time
to avoid a nasty scar. Although the forgery was quickly discovered, it
had already been widely disseminated, and Clayton's life (er...) is now
a seething morass of red tape.
Clayton now believes that Snidely was working with the Vahzilok, and
has noticed some disturbing but inexact parallels between his own newfound
powers and those of the creepy ("'Wierdly beautiful,' my ass," in his
own words) eidolons who lead the Vahzilok forces.
