What is Dance Dance Revolution?
Dance Dance Revolution is a musical dancing arcade game by Konami.
Yes, you read that right. It works like this:
You stand in the center of a pad on the floor. Surrounding you are four arrows... up, down, left, right. On the video screen, arrows scroll from the bottom to the top -- when they hit the top, you step on the corresponding pad. They hit the top on every beat, or half beat, or quarter beat and so on depending on how hard the song is... and believe me, some can be damn hard. They range in difficulty from 'Step every now and then' to 'Comboed double steps on every eigth beat'. The game is not for the squeamish or those with poor body control.
Sound interesting? Unfortunately, DDR is only available at arcades or on Playstation. If you wanted to play it, you'd have to modify your Playstation to play import games, import a copy of the game, and import a soft vynil dance mat... money money money.
Until now.
Thanks to a Korean DDR clone called Diet Diet Revolution, you can play on your Win98 packing home computer. You'll be using the arrow keys instead of your feet, but it's still quite a challenge. What's more, it's expandable to include new songs... say... rock songs available on this web page?
But enough explaination. You wanna get down and dirty. You want Diet Diet Revolution. I'm here to help you get it. Visit the 'How do I play DDR on my computer?' page next.
